INTRODUCTION

The Vision:

MPPS as a gateway of technical education aims to empower the health care system interest of Nepalese population in general by producing high quality professionals with ability to face the needs and challenges of the era.

Objectives:

  • To produce the quality professionals that support and contribute in successful implementation of government policies and programs.
  • To take local initiatives with global vision to enhance the quality of education.
  • To promote the students for self-regard and self-reliant.
  • To gain a public support for betterment of education facilities.

FACULTIES

MPPS is currently providing education for two academic programs in separate buildings.

PCL NURSING (3 YEARS COURSE)

Through the years the definition of “Nursing is evolved, yet the focus of providing humanistic care has always been preserved. Nursing is an accountable discipline guided by science, theory, a code of ethics and the art of care and comfort to treat human response to health and illness”.

Nursing, profession that assumes responsibility for the continuous care of the sick, the injured, the disabled and the dying. Nursing is also responsible for encouraging the health of the individuals, families and communities in medical and community settings. Nurses are actively involved in the health care research, management, policy deliberations and patient advocacy. Professional nurses also oversee the work of nursing assistants in various setting. (Advances in health care technology, rising expectation of the people seeking care and reorganization of the health care system require a greater number of highly educated professionals.)

SCOPE OF NURSING PRACTICE

According to the International Council of Nurses (ICN), the scope of nursing practice “encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings.” National nursing associations further clarify the scope of nursing practice by establishing particular practice standards and codes of the ethics. National and state agencies also regulate the scope of nursing practice. Together, these set forth legal parameters and guidelines for the practice of nurse as clinicians, educators, administrators or researchers.
